About Bubba
Deputy Bubba Johnson

Deputy Johnson lost his life on January 12th, 2014 in a motor vehicle accident while on duty with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. Bubba had previously served with Montgomery County EMS and the Clarksville Police Department. Known for his selflessness, kindness, and willingness to help those in need, Bubba's death dealt a huge blow to not only his family, but the community he'd assisted and befriended in his nearly 30 years of public service. His memory lives on through the stories his community tells daily — and through this foundation's mission to assist the families of those like Bubba, just as Bubba would.

Our Mission

Serving those in need

We know what it's like to lose that monthly income after a line-of-duty death or serious injury. State and federal benefits take time to arrive — so the Deputy Bubba Johnson Foundation is here to help keep the lights on in the homes and souls of surviving families until they do.

Why they keep coming back

I never had the honor of meeting Bubba but I tear up when I drive by his billboard every day. My husband and I are happy to participate in the 5K every year…it's the least we can do.

The smiles on the faces of everyone in attendance speaks to not only the event's success, but also the person Bubba truly was.
